Plot

He lost his daughter in front of him.

'Gangdu' is running little store in next to Hangang river with his father. and he has one daughter becoming middle school student. also his little brother and little sister live with him.

when he is delivering grilled squid, he found something strange object hanging under the bridge.

when people notice it, it is diving to river. people take picture it and throw something to it. then suddenly it is out from river, it is monster attacking people. monster crash and bite every thing. 'Gangdu' is running from monster with his daughter, but he miss his daughter's hand. then monster disappear with his daughter.

Because of appearance of monster, Hangang is closed, and all city get panic. 'Gangdu' 's family lost house and job oneday, most of all his daughter. they have no power, no money, so no one help them. but they are looking for daughter by themselves.

This movie is best korean monster movie. actually monster movie is not usual genre in korea. because korea doesn't have good visual effective system. so before this, korean monster movies was in comic genre. but this is awesome. not just effective system, it includes so many meaning. It is actually story of lonely fight of one family. You may compare to other monster movie with this. if I compare with 'Gozzila'(old version), Goverment help people who fight with monster. but in this movie, one family fight with them.

About background. Hangang is river in Seoul. this river is liked most people in Seoul. most foreigner says eating chicken and beer(we call it 'chimek) is awesome. 'chimek' is one of korean best thing. if you are interested in korean culture, it is now very popular thing as kind of fashion. it is famous in other country because of 'Man from star'(korean drama). but before this, most people thought beer and grilled squid best. you can find 'Gangdu' delivering grilled squid. If you go to seoul, I recommend chicken and beer in Hangang park.

About actors. You can find also 'Song gangho'('Gangdu' in movie). but in this movie, you can find so many best actors. first of all, 'Park haeyil('Nam il' in movie). and 'Byeon heebong'(grand father in movie), I think he is one of best old actor in korea. If you saw 'the game'(korean movie), you must be frightened his acting. and 'Bae doona', you already know her. she is girlfriend of Jim sturgess.
